Birmingham vs Leeds Match Preview

Birmingham suffered a fifth successive defeat last time out going down 3-2 to Midlands rivals West Brom.  The loss of form and a nine points deduction means they have dropped to 18thand are five points above the relegation places.  They are about to embark on a tricky run with three of their next four against teams in the top six.

At St Andrew’s, the Blues are struggling form having picked up just a single point from their last four league fixtures.  A lack of goals in front of their own fans has been an issue of late blanking in three of four.  They are struggling to keep them out having kept a clean sheet in just one of the last five compared to three from the four prior to that.

Leeds moved back into second place last weekend with a rollercoaster match against Millwall as they twice fought from behind to win 3-2. Pablo Hernandez was the hero on that occasion grabbing a brace while Luke Ayling also grabbed one.  It means they moved two points ahead of Sheffield United in the race for third but remain five behind league leaders Norwich.

Away from Elland Road, United have won their last two league matches but just three of the last seven.  Just one of their last four on the road have gone over 2.5 goals and none of the last six have gone over 3.5.  Mateusz Klich has three in his last five on the road while Pablo Hernandez has five in five at all grounds.

Backing the visitors to win looks the way forward as the Yorkshire outfit have won four of their last five including each of their last two on the road.  Their Midlands opponents are struggling at their own place with three defeats in four including to struggling sides in Bolton and Millwall.

Mateusz Klich and Pablo Hernandez are both in good goalscoring form and either would be a good option to score at any time but with the former at a slightly bigger price he will get my selection to add to his three goals in five on the road.
