Besiktas vs Wolves Match Preview
Besiktas have struggled to pick it up lately and they now host Wolves for their Europa League clash with a four-match winless streak behind them, seeing away losses to Gazişehir Gaziantep (3-2), Slovan Bratislava (4-2), Trabzonspor (4-1), and only interrupting the streak with a 1-1 draw against Istanbul Basaksehir at this ground.
Black Eagles haven’t been able to keep it together at the back (conceding 12 goals in four games) and this has proven costly once too often, but we’ve still seen them as a very tough nut to crack in front of the home fans – which promises excitement as well as another very narrow occasion on the day.
Wolves have picked it up and ended a similar winless streak last week, as they beat Reading (on penalties after a 1-1 draw) in League Cup and Watford (2-0) in Premier League. They’ll now hope to build on the performances and cause an upset at Vodafone Park, despite still having to shake off the feeling of inconsistency surrounding them.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men saw a narrow 0-1 loss to Sporting Braga on the opening day of the campaign and will now be desperate to bounce, as a disappointment in Istanbul would surely set them back greatly. They want to stay in the chase for a top 2 spot early on and we expect them very motivated now as well.
We will stick our necks out for the sides to share the spoils on Thursday and while neither of them can surely be all too happy with such an outcome, it feels like more than just a lively longshot at 12/5 with Paddy Power.
We do expect goals and with that in mind, we feel that going for a Yes on Both teams to score could prove the best approach to the fixture at this point – backed at 8/11 with William Hill. We’ve seen both sides scoring and conceding on the regular and this feels like further evidence for such a bet.
