Belarus vs Estonia Match Preview
Belarus host Estonia for their EURO 2020 Qualifiers clash on Thursday afternoon, having struggled to make an impact in Group C and only having three points to their name after five games – snatched in Tallinn (1-2) with a last-gasp winner from Maksim Skavysh.
White Wings have thus ended a streak of four consecutive losses, where they saw Netherlands (4-0) and Germany (0-2) bag the points quite comfortably and two more disappointing losses to Northern Ireland (2-1 in Belfast and 0-1 in Borisov). They will now hope they can turn their luck around and we expect Igor Kriushenko’s men just as motivated.
Estonia have struggled just as much and now sit rock-bottomed with no points to their name, having only interrupted the unwanted streak with a narrow friendly win in Gibraltar (0-1) which now hardly looks like a great boost to their confidence – with four losses now behind them.
Karel Voolaid’s men saw losses to Northern Ireland (1-2), Germany (8-0), Belarus (1-2), and Netherlands (0-4) since June and while they’ve been tougher to beat in front of the home crowd – their records away from home will be more worrying. They’ve scored just one goal in five competitive games on the road and we feel we’re in for more of the same.
We’ll thus back Belarus to secure the points with more confidence this time around and we will go for a Home win to Nil here, which comes at 23/20 with Coral and has already caught the eye of many value seekers as the best approach to the fixture.
We don’t feel we’re in for a very one-sided contest, though, and this could prove a tough deadlock to break. With that in mind, we’re also hoping for few goals overall and backing Under 2.5 Goals FT at 4/7 with Unibet.
