Bayern Munich vs Werder Bremen Match Preview
Bayern Munich host Werder Bremen desperate for Bundesliga points after seeing Bayer Leverkusen (1-2) and Borussia Monchengladbach (2-1) both deny them, dropping to 7th spot and seven points behind the pace-setters. They have bounced with a Champions League win over Tottenham (3-1) midway through the week and will surely hope to build on it.
Bavarians have struggled defensively and had troubles keeping clean sheets along the way, despite a strong start under Hansi Flick and obvious changes to Niko Kovac’s approach. They will hope struggling Bremen will not be the same sort of a challenge either, with an obvious difference in depth of quality and ambitions.
Werder Bremen saw a troubled 0-1 loss to Paderborn last week and this saw their woes confirmed despite winning a five-goal thriller at Wolfsburg (2-3) the week before. This was their third loss in four outings and while they cope to escape the danger zone, a lot could depend on clashes against Mainz and Koln ahead of the winter break.
Bremen have been scoring goals on the regular and they have shown off as a tougher side to beat on the road. They bagged 14 goals on seven Bundesliga trips so far and suffered just two losses along the way, which will be a confidence booster as they look for an upset in Munich as well.
While we don’t see them making it happen, we do expect the visitors very motivated to bounce from the last week’s disappointment with another solid display on the road. We thus feel that going for a Yes on Both teams to score comes as the best approach to the fixture at 3/4 with bet365.
We do hope to see a comfortable win for Bayern Munich, though, and we hope to see the attacking line led by in-form Robert Lewandowski deliver again. We’re thus also sticking our necks out for a two-goal Winning Margin, which comes at 7/2 with VirginBet and looks like a lively longshot.
