Bayern Munich face a real fight in the remainder of the campaign to hold onto their Bundesliga crown. FC Hollywood are of course the most decorated club in German football history and they have remained the dominant force in the top tier of the league system in recent years, winning the title in the last six consecutive seasons but with just 14 games remaining in the current campaign they sit in second place, seven points behind leaders Borussia Dortmund.

Last weekend’s 3-1 away defeat at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen was a real hammer blow to Niko Kovac and his side’s chances of retaining the trophy last week and they continued to stutter in the DFB Pokal in midweek, needing extra-time to overcome Hertha Berlin away from home to progress. After two sub-par performances in the last seven days, can Die Roten return to the form expected of them by a disgruntled fanbase with three points here at 2/9 with Ladbrokes.

Schalke 04 seem to be one of several Bundesliga clubs that fluctuate between excellent and sub-standard season upon season. They have shipped five goals in their two previous outings this week though and have not managed to keep a clean sheet in their last four games now.
