Barnsley can consider themselves unlucky to have been at the wrong end of a 2-0 loss to Reading last time out despite dominating the expected goals data stats. It ended a run of three unbeaten for the Yorkshire outfit and saw the gap to safety extended to five points.

At Oakwell, the Tykes have won just one of their last four though that did come last time they played here when they beat Middlesbrough 1-0. Each of their last three here have been level at half-time with the last two being goalless.

Cardiff fought back from two goals down to rescue a point last time out as they drew at home to Brentford in a game that finished 2-2. The Welsh side are without a victory in four and have and dropped to 11th five places and points from the play-offs.

Away from the Cardiff City Stadium, the Bluebirds have lost just one of their last four though that was on their last road trip going down 2-0 at Stoke. Lee Tomlin has two goals in his last four on the road while Will Vaulks has two in five.

Bookmakers make Barnsley marginal favourites which is probably fair given their home advantage and they have won more games lately. That being said it is hard to take the Tykes at these odds and as such it makes sense to look away from the 90 minute result market for the bet.

In a tricky looking game to call we feel the best value lies in the goalscorer markets and we have identified a couple of value bets. For the hosts, Cauley Woodrow has six in his last eight and was somewhat unfortunate not to net last weekend against Reading.
