Barnsley saw their two-game unbeaten run come to an end last weekend as they went down 2-1 away at Huddersfield. They still remain bottom of the table as their winless run stretched to 12 and at the time of writing caretaker Adam Murray was favourite to get the full-time role.

At Oakwell, the Tykes are five without a victory though each of their last two here have finished in honours even. Each of the last three and five of the last six at this ground have seen both teams find the back of the net.

Bristol City stretched their unbeaten run to two with a 2-2 draw at home to Wigan but need a Pedro Pereira strike four minutes from time to rescue a point. They sit in sixth place going into the weekend having lost on just two occcasions this season.

Away from Ashton Gate, the Robins are winless in their last three with two draws and a recent 3-0 loss at Luton. Six of their last seven on the road have seen both teams find the back of the net with four going over 2.5 goals.

Bookmakers make City the favourites here and given the gap in the table between the two you can see why but they don’t look good things given they are winless in three on the road. Instead, look at Barnsley to net first as the Robins have conceded first in three of their last five while the Tykes have four first-half goals in their last five. This also opens up the possibility of the Yorkshire outfit to be ahead at half-time which looks worth a smaller play.
