Barcelona host Real Valladolid for their Matchday 24 La Liga clash on Saturday evening looking to return to the winning ways after a streak of three draws in a row, where Valencia (2-2) and Athletic Bilbao (0-0) snatched important points and Real Madrid came away with a 1-1 Copa del Rey draw at Camp Nou.

Blaugrana still sit six points in the clear at the top of the table but they see Los Blancos catching up, which will have Ernesto Valverde and his men desperate to put on a more confident display against struggling rivals this time around. We have seen them conceding goals but a more stable performance at the back should now be significant, as they try to capitalize on the rivals’ woes up front.

Indeed, Real Valladolid sit in the immediate danger zone after 23 games played and they’ve only shared the spoils in a goalless draw against similarly struggling Villarreal last week – failing to find the net at all in three of their four outings since mid-January.

Pucela’s troubles on the road have been even more obvious as they suffered convincing losses at Levante (2-0) and Huesca (4-0), conceding six along the way. With a thriller chase at the bottom and three sides breathing down their necks, Sergio knows snatching points at La Liga pace-setters would be a great deal – but getting it will be no easy task.
