Barcelona vs Getafe Match Preview
Barcelona have seen a disappointing Champions League trip to Liverpool and a thrashing 4-0 loss saw them fall just short of a Final in Madrid despite a 3-0 home win over the English rivals last week. They now host Getafe looking to bounce back and end a streak of two losses in a row.
Blaugrana have been in great shape at Camp Nou and now look for their ninth win in a row and across competitions, basing success on such records here. They’ve now secured the title but will want to finish the campaign here on a positive note, which is bound to have them motivated.
However, Getafe have more to play for after making the top 4 cut and sitting three points clear of both 5th placed Valencia and 6th placed Sevilla. They beat Girona (2-0) in front of the home fans last week but can boast no real consistency, especially struggling for stability away from home.
Azulones have earned just one win in their last ten trips and while we’ve seen them scoring on the regular, just six draws and three losses also on the records will hardly feel like a great boost to their confidence.
We will now back Barcelona to bounce back quickly and secure the home points despite no immediate importance to them, as they look to put a loss at Liverpool behind them. We’ll thus go for a Home win at 8/15 with William Hill, which seems like buying money for old rope.
We have seen Blaugrana struggling for openers, though, and untangling many of the clashes only in the second half. With that in mind, we’re now going for another such occasion with Time of First Goal at 25’ to Full Time at Evens with Paddy Power.
