Barcelona vs Espanyol Match Preview
Barcelona host city rivals Espanyol as they return to La Liga after the International break looking to build on a three-match winning streak, where they outclassed Rayo Vallecano (3-1), Real Betis (1-4) in La Liga and Lyon (5-1) in Champions League despite conceding on all of the occasions.
Indeed, Blaugrana have struggled to keep clean sheets and managed just one in last five outings but this only proved costly as they suffered a Supercopa de Catalunya loss to Girona (0-1) with a rotated line-up. They will now want to keep it up with a busy schedule in early April and we expect them very motivated on Saturday.
Espanyol have, on the other hand, struggled for such consistency and we’ve seen them only bag two wins in 11 outings across competitions – which saw them crash out of Copa del Rey in the hands of Betis and drop nine points behind the La Liga’s top 6.
RCDE have been no strangers to shocking Barcelona but they’ve seen a thrashing 0-4 loss to the rivals earlier this term and doing more at Camp Nou will be a tough task. They’ve been scoring goals on the regular but struggled to capitalize with many defensive slip-ups and we now hope for more of the same.
We will thus stick our necks out for Barcelona to turn an exciting clash their way as we go for a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score, which combines to 5/4 with Paddy Power and has caught the eye of many in the know already.
Indeed, Blaugrana have struggled to keep clean sheets but few have felt it at Camp Nou as they impress in the final third, which also has us going for a high-scoring contest with Over 3.5 Goals FT at 4/5 with bet365. We’ve seen four or more goals in all of their last three outings and now hope to see more of the same.
