Barcelona vs Chelsea Match Preview
Barcelona have seen a busy summer where they already brought in names such as Antoine Greizmann and Frenkie de Jong, with the fans getting excited for the pre-season to take shape and they open it with a Tuesday clash against Chelsea at Saitama Stadium 2002
Blaugrana failed to build on their convincing title run and suffered a Copa del Rey final loss to Valencia (1-2) late last term and Ernesto Valverde will want to build on the consistency as early as this week. They have an amazing attacking line and a lot of youngsters desperate to show off, which does promise them in a great mood.
Chelsea have, on the other hand, seen troubles through their pre-season and we’ve seen a couple of unconvincing displays along the way. They’ve been held off in a 1-1 draw at Bohemians and went on to beat St Patrick’s Athletic (0-4) ahead of their trip to Japan, going on to see a shock 1-0 loss to Kawasaki Frontale which emphasized their troubles up front.
Blues will now want more and will have to produce, as Barcelona should prove much more of a challenge. Their struggles to keep clean sheets could be even more worrying than their getting used to life after Eden Hazard, which does leave a lot of work to be done in just under a month.
We will now stick with Barcelona to capitalize on such troubles at this point and going for them to win at Saitama Stadium 2002 does feel a solid approach to the fixture despite no high stakes involved and fitness the only focus on both ends.
We should be in for goals and with hopes this will prove an exciting occasion for neutrals, we’re also going for a Yes on Both teams to score – which has caught the eye of many especially with Chelsea’s scoring and conceding over the past few weeks.
