Bahia host Gremio for their Matchday 7 Serie A clash on the back of a Copa do Brasil win over Sao Paulo (1-0) and a three-match winning streak, which also saw them bag points in a 3-2 thriller against Fluminense in front of the home fans.

Tricolor will now be looking to build on great records at Arena Fonte Nova and keep up with the top of the table early in the new campaign, with ten points to their name after six games played and a six-point gap to pace-setters Palmeiras. They’ve been tough defensively and Roger Machado will surely want to build on such records looking to capitalize on the visitors’ recent woes on the road.

Gremio have beaten Atletico Mineiro (1-0) and Juventude (3-0) in their last two outings but have struggled to impress on the road in similar fashion, which sees them in the relegation zone after six games – with just two away points so far as well as a Copa Libertadores loss at Universidad Catolica (1-0) and a Copa do Brasil draw at Juventude (0-0) beforehand.
