Bahia vs Gremio Match Preview
Bahia host Gremio for their Matchday 7 Serie A clash on the back of a Copa do Brasil win over Sao Paulo (1-0) and a three-match winning streak, which also saw them bag points in a 3-2 thriller against Fluminense in front of the home fans.
Tricolor will now be looking to build on great records at Arena Fonte Nova and keep up with the top of the table early in the new campaign, with ten points to their name after six games played and a six-point gap to pace-setters Palmeiras. They’ve been tough defensively and Roger Machado will surely want to build on such records looking to capitalize on the visitors’ recent woes on the road.
Gremio have beaten Atletico Mineiro (1-0) and Juventude (3-0) in their last two outings but have struggled to impress on the road in similar fashion, which sees them in the relegation zone after six games – with just two away points so far as well as a Copa Libertadores loss at Universidad Catolica (1-0) and a Copa do Brasil draw at Juventude (0-0) beforehand.
Imortal Tricolor have thus netted just one goal on their last three trips and finding a cure for such woes will be crucial as they look to build on home performance against Juventude, which saw Felipe Vizeu bag a brace and Diego Tardelli add one to the tally.
We don’t feel the visitors will be able to do so, though, and we’ll now rather stick our necks out for Bahia to secure all three points in a narrow contest where a Home win comes at 31/20 with bet365.
Bahia have based their success on defensive displays more than anything else lately and with that in mind, we’re now also backing another low-scoring contest with Under 2.5 Goals FT at 1/2 with bet365 – which has seen many big hitters lumping already.
