Augsburg vs Borussia Dortmund Match Preview

Borussia Dortmund travel to Augsburg for their Matchday 24 clash after finally putting an end to their five-match winless streak across competitions, keeping hold of a three-point gap at the top of the Bundesliga table and now hoping to build on it – as well as their team spirits ahead of the Champions League clash against Tottenham.

BVB have rediscovered their fine form in the final third with goals from Dan Zagadou, Jadon Sancho, and Mario Gotze and could need all they can get at WWK Arena too. They’ve only secured the home points against the rivals earlier this term with a last-gasp winner from Paco Alcacer in a seven-goal thriller and we should now be in for another exciting contest.

Augsburg have struggled defensively over the past couple of weeks, though, and this should give a lot of spaces to explore as Manuel Baum saw his men all over the place in thrashing losses to Werder Bremen (4-0), Bayern Munich (2-3), and Freiburg (5-1) since early February.

Fuggerstadter have been scoring more goals in front of the home fans and were led by Alfred Finnbogason in the final third, but he’s still under a question mark after a knock suffered in Bremen. Still, we expect an exciting challenge as the home side throws down the gauntlet in a battle to escape dropping into the relegation zone.
