Atletico Madrid host Villarreal for their Matchday 25 clash on Sunday evening, just days after beating Liverpool (1-0) in Champions League and making it their fifth win in six home outings across competitions. They returned to a top 4 spot and will now be desperate to build on it, with visitors breathing down their necks.

Atleti have struggled for points on the road lately and will have a lot to prove in Liverpool, but we’ve seen more recognizable performances at Wanda Metropolitano lately. Diego Simeone’s men kept five clean sheets in six outings here as well and we’re now hoping for more of the same.

Villarreal have been a tough side to beat but still saw a troubled streak on the road, where they suffered a 4-2 loss at Mirandes and were denied points in a 1-1 draw at Real Valladolid since early February. They beat Levante (2-1) last week and sit just two points behind Atleti, which does promise them in a good mood.

Yellow Submarine will need more for an upset here, though, and we don’t see them up to the task. They struggled against the big guns on the road and have a lot to prove if they’re to keep hold of a top 6 spot, where their performance in Madrid could set the tone towards late in the campaign.

We don’t see them causing an upset, though, and we’ll now rather stick with Atletico Madrid to secure the points in a very narrow contest as we back a Home win to Nil at eye-catching 13/8 with bet365 – which would mean more of the same for Atleti here.
