Athletic Bilbao host Espanyol for their Matchday 27 clash looking for a return to the winning ways after a comfortable 2-0 loss at Valencia, where only a late goal from Kevin Gameiro made it so. They have been more challenging at home ground and will now hope to show off such a character once again.

Los Leones have bagged three wins and a draw in their last four home outings and kept clean sheets on all of those occasions, as they shut down Sevilla (2-0), Real Betis (1-0), Eibar (1-0), and Barcelona (0-0) and climbed the league table to just four points behind the top 6.

Espanyol come into the match on the back of a great 3-1 win over Real Valladolid and extended a five-match unbeaten streak, where they also beat Rayo Vallecano (2-1) and held off Villarreal (2-2), Valencia (0-0), and Huesca (1-1) along the way.

Periquitos have had more troubles turning clashes their way on the road and haven’t done so since October, with four draws and seven losses on the records. This will feel more worrying for the travelling fans and seeing their men concede 13 goals in six trips adds to a belief Bilbao will have a lot to work with on the day.
