Arsenal vs West Ham Match Preview
Arsenal host West Ham for their Matchday 29 clash on Saturday afternoon looking to build on FA Cup success, beating Portsmouth (0-2) with a rotated line-up on Tuesday and now hoping they can close the gap to Premier League top 4 – as they sit eight points behind Chelsea with a game in hand.
Gunners picked it up lately and beat Newcastle (4-0) and Everton (3-2) in their last two league outings and while they’ve seen a disappointing Europa League exit in the hands of Olympiakos Piraeus, we expect Mikel Arteta’s men in a great mood. They have been scoring numbers of goals on the regular and will be tough to shut down at Emirates.
West Ham have, on the other hand, just ended a streak of eight games without a win as they beat Southampton (3-1) last week, where Jarrod Bowen, Sebastien Haller, and Michail Antonio all made it on the scoresheet in an exciting game which kept them hovering above the relegation zone.
Hammers have struggled defensively, though, and this has been obvious on many occasions. They haven’t been able to cope with the big guns and saw losses to Man City (2-0) and Liverpool (3-2) beforehand and while they’ll want to do more against the city rivals, we don’t see David Moyes’ men making it happen.
We will thus stick with Arsenal to secure the points and going for a Home win at 11/20 with BetVictor feels like buying money for old rope, as Hammers struggle to impress and just haven’t been on a par with the big guns.
We still feel the visitors will be able to build on their goalscoring record of recent and with that in mind, it’s easy to make a case for another high-scoring occasion in London. We’ll thus back Over 2.5 Goals FT, which comes at 8/13 with William Hill.
