Arsenal vs Manchester United Match Preview
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is clinging on to his 100% record as Manchester United manager, but it is expected to finally disappear in Friday’s FA Cup fourth-round tie away to Arsenal.
However, the popular Norwegian, who has played a big part in transforming United’s fortunes and mood over the last month or so, is also fancied to remain unbeaten at the helm.
United were hanging on at the end of their 2-1 win at home to Brighton last Saturday which made it a ‘magnificent seven’ for Solskjaer since he was appointed as the interim successor to Jose Mourinho.
In that day’s teatime match, Arsenal ensured they remain ahead of the Red Devils on goal difference in the Premier League table with an excellent 2-0 home success against Chelsea.
These clubs’ only league meeting this term was at Old Trafford last month when poor defending by both teams was the main feature of their 2-2 draw.
Again, there looks little to separate them because Solskjaer proved his tactical acumen with his side’s recent 1-0 win over Tottenham at Wembley.
The bookmakers have got Arsenal as slight favourites for this game, but it is a very difficult one to call and we are backing an Old Trafford replay to be required.
