Armenia vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Match Preview
Bosnia-Herzegovina have been struggling away from home since winning in Northern Ireland exactly a year ago, but look a better team than Armenia and are backed to triumph on their trip to Yerevan.
Goals have been difficult to come by for Bosnia on their travels, yet they are still in with a fair chance of reaching Euro 2020 either by overhauling Finland for second place behind Italy in qualifying Group J or via the play-offs which is a confirmed fallback option for them.
A 5-0 success at home to Liechtenstein on Thursday will have served as a good confidence booster for a team that contains high-quality players such as Edin Dzeko, Miralem Pjanic and Sead Kolasinac, plus on-loan Sheffield United midfielder Mo Besic and winger Edin Visca.
Armenia, of course, have Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has just joined Roma on loan from Arsenal, as their talisman and they are not completely out of the qualifying reckoning, being only one point behind the Bosnians despite Thursday’s 3-1 defeat at home to Italy.
However, The Collective, as they are nicknamed, suffered a blow when striker Aleksandre Karapetian, who has been in good international form and scored an excellent opening goal against the Italians, was later sent off in an eventful first half and is suspended for this game.
Essentially, Bosnia-Herzegovina appear to be a classier outfit than Armenia and we will count on them adding a few more goals to the five they scored on Thursday to potentially close the gap on Finland, who face Italy later on Sunday.
