Andorra vs Albania Match Preview
Albania travel to Andorra for their EURO 2020 Qualifiers clash just days after hosting Turkey, as they look to build on a solid finish of 2018 where they beat Wales (1-0) and ended a four-match winless streak across competitions.
Red and Blacks have struggled for consistency and consequently crashed out of UEFA Nations League C in a group shared with Scotland and Israel, seeing a thrashing 0-4 loss to Scotland on the last day of the campaign – where Ryan Fraser, Steven Fletcher, and James Forrest (x2) all found the net.
They will now want more at Estadi Nacional and Andorra should not prove the same sort of a challenge, seeing a struggling spell of form over the past year. They’ve struggled to turn clashes their way and this will be just as worrying fresh into the new EURO Qualifiers, where they come off as heavy underdogs.
Els Tricolors held Kazakhstan (1-1), Georgia (1-1) and Latvia (0-0) to draws in their last three home outings, though, and will have a lot to build on in that sense despite a tough schedule. We thus expect a strong challenge on the day which should give Albania a run for their money.
However, we will still back the visitors to snatch the important points in a narrow contest, as we go for Albania to win to Nil at 10/11 with Paddy Power. We have seen them struggling to score numbers of goals but a tough defensive display should prove enough for Christian Panucci and his men.
We thus don’t feel we’re in for many goals and we’ll also go for a low-scoring contest at Estadi Nacional, where Under 2.5 Goals FT looks like more of a generous banker bet at 7/10 with bet365 – seeing five of both sides’ respective last seven outings end that way.
