Amiens vs Marseille Match Preview

Marseille travel to Amiens for their Matchday 9 Ligue 1 clash on Friday evening with three consecutive draws behind them and looking to finally bag a win, after being held off by Montpellier (1-1), Dijon (0-0), and Rennes (1-1) since mid-September and dropping down the pecking order.

Les Phoceens have seen injury woes and will now miss suspended Kevin Strootman and Dimitri Payet as well as Alvaro Gonzalez and Florian Thauvin, which could make the task of setting up his preferred attacking formation tougher for Andre Villas-Boas. Still, they have a lot to build on and sit just five points behind pace-setters PSG, which promises them in a good mood.

Amiens have been very unpredictable and now come into the match on the back of a 1-1 draw earned at Angers, only denying the rivals a win for the third time this term. They have been scoring goals on the regular and will now hope to build on such a tally, last failing to find the net back in August and scoring at least a goal in all of their last four games.

Les Licornes have proven themselves a tough nut to crack here but still can’t boast any real stability, as they beat Lille (1-0) and held off Lyon (2-2) but fell victims to what you’d think of less challenging rivals Nantes (1-2) and Bordeaux (1-3). We feel this could prove costly once again and the visitors will be very motivated to capitalize.

We will thus go for Marseille to snatch all three points and backing an Away win at Stade Credit Agricole de la Licorne, which comes at 29/20 with Unibet, feels like going along with the many value seekers in France.

We do feel we’re in for an exciting occasion, though, and Les Phoceens will have to find heroes in the final third to snatch the points.
