Algeria vs Guinea Match Preview
Algeria have been in great shape as they made their way to the knockout stages with wins over Kenya (2-0), Senegal (0-1), and Tanzania (0-3) with goals coming from all directions – as Bounedjah, Mahrez, Belaili, Slimani, and Ounas all found the net already in Egypt.
Desert Foxes have thus extended a nine-match unbeaten streak across competitions and will now surely be just as confident, especially after rock-solid defensive displays in Group C. Djamel Belmadi’s men have thus seen odds on them to lift the trophy shortening but still have a lot to prove, which makes a clash against Guinea an important test.
Guinea have made their way to the knockout stages thanks to a 0-2 win over Burundi on the final day of the group stage, building on a four-point tally despite a narrow yet disappointing 1-0 loss to Nigeria seen beforehand. Still, coping with the big guns isn’t something Paul Put’s men have been known for.
National Elephants only ended a seven-match winless streak with points against Burundi and will now have a lot to prove if they’re to build on it, despite scoring more goals lately and getting more to build on in that sense. Still, we don’t feel they have enough to deny Algeria at this point.
We will thus stick our necks out for Algeria to make their way to the Quarter-finals with a win priced at 4/5 with MyBet, which has caught a lot of attention as a generous pick – seeing their performances through the group stage.
We do feel they’ll have to keep it together at the back and turn a narrow clash their way, though, as we now also back Under 2.5 Goals FT at 1/2 with 22Bet. We’ve gotten used to such clashes on both ends and this does feel like buying money for old rope.
