Albania vs Turkey Match Preview

Turkey have seen a disappointing end of 2018 as they crashed out UEFA Nations League B with losses to Russia (2-0) and Sweden (0-1) late in the campaign, only bouncing back with a goalless friendly draw against Ukraine as they take on a trip to Albania looking for their first win in five outings across competitions.

Crescent-Stars have struggled to score goals, though, and failed to find the net in all of their last four outings. Senol Gunes boasts a great reputation in Turkey but has to find a cure quickly, as they look for important points at Stadiumi Loro Borici and Group H promises a great challenge indeed.

Albania have beaten Wales (1-0) in front of the home fans and ended a four-match winless streak of their own, proving themselves as a tough nut to crack. They’ve seen struggles of their own up front and losses to Israel (2-0) and Scotland (0-4) will feel just as worrying for the crowd in Shkoder.

Red and Blacks have been a tougher side to beat on home turf and we feel they will now show off as such once again, which could make troubles in Turkey all the more obvious – denying them the points away from home and a way into the contention for the top spots early on.
