Alaves vs Real Betis Match Preview
Deportivo Alaves have struggled for points and saw a disappointing end of 2019, earning just one in four La Liga outings and dropping out of Copa del Rey in the hands of Tercera Division rivals Real Jaen (3-1) along the way. They now host Real Betis for their Matchday 19 clash looking to bounce and start the new year on the right foot, desperate to escape the immediate danger zone.
Babazorros saw a thrashing 4-1 loss at Barcelona last time out and while Pere Pons netted his second goal in two appearances, it proved nothing but a poor consolation at Camp Nou. They have been a lot tougher to beat at this ground, though, and will now look to show it again – having seen just two losses in nine outings at Mendizorroza Stadium this term.
Real Betis will be no easy rivals to bounce against, though, and while they come into the match with a 1-2 loss to Atletico Madrid behind them, it only ended a five-match unbeaten streak for Rubi’s men. They’ve been scoring goals on the regular, earning four wins and a draw in those five games and this should have them in a good mood.
Beticos beat Antoniano (0-4) on their last trip and we’ve seen them bag five points in three La Liga trips beforehand, as they held off Real Madrid (0-0), Espanyol (2-2), and beat Mallorca (1-2) in the process. They’ll now hope for more of the same in an attempt to catch up with the top 6.
We do feel they have what it takes to leave unbeaten but we don’t see them snatching all three points in Vitoria-Gasteiz, as we now stick our necks out for the sides to share the spoils in a Draw priced at 9/4 with William Hill.
We have seen both rivals scoring and conceding goals on the regular and after seeing such occasions in seven of both sides’ respective last ten outings across competitions, we’re now also going for a Yes on Both teams to score at 17/20 with William Hill.
