Ajax vs PSV Eindhoven Match Preview

PSV travel to Amsterdam for their Matchday 27 Eredivisie derby clash on the back of a three-match winning streak and a lengthy unbeaten series going back as far as early December, hoping to cause an upset and build on the five-point gap at the top of the table.

Boeren have been in great shape and beat Excelsior (0-2), NAC Breda (2-0), and VVV (0-1) with clean sheets kept on all of the occasions. They’ve also seen goals coming from all directions and Mark van Bommel should have no troubles lifting their spirits as the visitors look to make a huge step towards their fourth title in five years.

Ajax have, on the other hand, impressed as they outclassed Real Madrid (5-3 on aggregate) in Champions League but they’ve now seen the six-match winning streak ended by AZ (1-0) – surely hoping to use the break to a good cause ahead of another important day in front of the home fans.

De Godenzonen have been furious at Johan Cruijff Arena and the first-leg loss to Real (1-2) was their only first of the campaign, which will give Erik ten Hag and his men a lot to build on. However, we feel PSV will be the toughest challenge yet and we don’t see them closing the gap to pace-setters on the day.
