Ajax vs Feyenoord Match Preview
Ajax came oh-so-close to opening the scoresheet but ended up seeing a 0-1 loss to Chelsea in Champions League, as Michy Batshuayi found the net with just three minutes left on the clock and ended their five-match winning streak across competitions. They now host Feyenoord looking to bounce quickly and return to the winning ways.
De Godenzonen have been in great shape in the final third as they beat Fortuna Sittard (5-0), Groningen (2-0), Valencia (0-3), ADO Den Haag (0-2), and RKC Waalwijk in five outings since late September. They’ve been led by in-form Dusan Tadic in the final third and we certainly hope to see them just as confident on the day.
Feyenoord have seen a mid-week loss of their own, falling victims to Young Boys in a 2-0 loss at Stade de Suisse as Roger Assale and Jean-Pierre Nsame converted two penalties still early in the game. They’ve seen a winless streak extended and bouncing will be crucial if they’re to catch up with the top of Eredivisie table.
De club aan de Maas have seen exciting clashes and disappointing results as they took on Fortuna Sittard (4-2) on the road and failed to recuperate over the break, seeing Heracles (1-1) snatch a point in Rotterdam. They have been scoring goals but defensive slip-ups were just many, which will feel just as worrying now.
We will back Ajax to capitalize on it and we’ll go for them to turn a tough contest their way, backing a Home win and a Yes on Both teams to score at 6/5 with Paddy Power – which does seem like value as Ajax saw defensive shortcomings of their own lately.
We do hope for another high-scoring contest after getting used to such head-to-head encounters, with 24 goals seen on the last six occasions. We will thus also back Over 3.5 Goals FT at 10/11 with William Hill and follow in the footsteps of many value seekers.
