AIK host Sirius for their Matchday 3 Allsvenskan clash after a somewhat underwhelming start of the campaign, as the reigning champions of Sweden earned just two points in two outings with goalless draws against Ostersunds and Norrkoping on the records.

Gnaget have thus kept up their rock-solid defensive displays but struggled to turn clashes their way, which will be more worrying as they take on the fresh and somewhat unexpected pace-setters early in the new season. Rikard Norling will now hope for a pick-me-up and we do see his men earning it.

Sirius have bagged six points in their respective first two outings as they beat Kalmar (0-2) on the road and AFC Eskilstuna (3-2) in front of the home fans, as winger Karl Larson leads the goalscorers list with goals on both of the occasions. Both ended up as narrow clashes but we still expect them very motivated at Friends Arena for it.

Nonetheless, we feel it’s just a question of time Sirius drop down the pecking order and their defensive inconsistencies prove costly. They’ve never snatch any points in clashes against AIK and this could be even more worrying, as the rivals get a lot to build on here.

We will back AIK to do so and in another very narrow contest in front of the home fans, as we go for a Home win to Nil at 21/20 with bet365. They’ve been rock-solid at the back and we don’t see the visitors doing damage on Sunday afternoon either.
