AC Milan are looking to return to the top table of European football this season as they go in chase of a top four finish. As one of Europe’s most established, well-supported and decorated clubs, the lack of Champions League action over the last few seasons will no doubt have frustrated the San Siro faithful but in the current campaign they do sit in the coveted top four spots but with a cushion of just one point over fifth-placed Roma as things stand.

Recent form has been strong for the Rossoneri and they come into this game on the back of an eight game unbeaten run in all competitions. Manager Gennaro Gattuso was known for his steeliness in his playing days and he has brought a certain aspect of play to this current crop of Milan players. Sassuolo’s rise through the Italian football pyramid in recent years has been impressive and well documented.
