AC Milan vs Napoli Match Preview

Considering their recent records, a 0-0 draw between these clubs on Saturday was no great surprise and it could be similarly tight in their Coppa Italia quarter-final clash.

AC Milan are struggling to score goals at home and likewise Napoli on their travels (see stats above), hence it finished 0-0 in San Siro at the weekend in Serie A and the visitors had midfielder Fabian Ruiz sent off right near the end for a second bookable offence.

The good news for Milan, however, is that their new £30million striker signing from Genoa,
Krzysztof Piątek, is eligible to have been named in the 23-man squad for this game by manager Gennaro Gattuso even though he has played for his former club Genoa in the competition earlier this season.

Napoli were the better of the two sides at the weekend, as befits their position in the Serie A table 13 points ahead of Milan who nevertheless are currently heading the race for the fourth Champions League berth ahead of Roma.

If pressed as to which club will advance to the Coppa Italia last four, we would go for Napoli. But Milan are defensively very solid at present and we are backing 90 minutes to be not enough to settle this tie one way or the other.
