Aberdeen vs Rangers Match Preview
Rangers travel to Pittodrie for their FA Cup clash at Aberdeen in great mood after connecting a three-match winning streak in late February, where they outclassed Kilmarnock (5-0), Hamilton (0-5), and Dundee (4-0) in high-scoring performances across competitions.
Gers have been primarily led by in-form Alfredo Morelos in the final third (who netted four against Killie) but saw goals coming from all directions, which will give them a lot to build on despite Steven Gerrard criticizing his outfit’s inconsistency midway through the week.
Aberdeen will want to capitalize on any defensive errors but come into the match with mid-week disappointment of their own, as Hamilton (0-2) snatched all three points here and extended their troubled spell of form in front of the home fans – where they earned one win in seven games despite a more convincing streak on the road.
Indeed, Dons have thus seen their three-match unbeaten streak ended after beating Queen of the South (4-1) and St Johnstone (0-2) but were denied all three points in a 2-2 draw against St Mirren along the way. They’ve been conceding goals on the regular and could need more to make their way to the semi-finals on Sunday.
We thus feel we should be in for a thrilling contest but we’ll stick with Rangers to capitalize on the rivals’ struggles at Pittodrie once again, going for an Away win at Evens with William Hill – which seems value in the market at this point.
We do feel we’re in for goals on both ends and with that in mind, we’ll also back a high-scoring contest in Aberdeen with Over 2.5 Goals FT at 19/20 with BetVictor. We’ve seen both enjoy such clashes lately and this feels like a solid approach to the fixture despite the high stakes involved.
