Aberdeen vs Hamilton Match Preview
Hamilton could end up being relegated from the Scottish Premiership this season and it is very difficult to see them avoiding an emphatic defeat against Aberdeen.
The Accies are part of a three-way scrap at the bottom of the table with St Mirren and Dundee. One of the trio will be relegated automatically, one will go into the play-off against a Championship club and the other will survive in the top flight for another campaign.
With Dundee having improved significantly since Jim McIntyre took charge, it looks as though Hamilton are in real danger and a record of 19 defeats in their 27 league games this season does not offer much hope for this trip to Pittodrie.
Brian Rice was recently installed as Hamilton’s head coach but there has yet to be any discernible improvement for his appointment.
Aberdeen are in a clear third place in the table and at present that looks like being their finishing position, which makes their Scottish Cup quarter-final at home to Rangers on Sunday an even bigger occasion.
The Dons recently slipped up in a 2-2 home draw with bottom club St Mirren but otherwise are in strong form, having unearthed an emerging goalscoring talent in former Carlisle United striker Sam Cosgrove who has netted 15 times in as many games since December.
This should be a straightforward test for Aberdeen and they are expected to win comfortably.
