Aberdeen vs Chikhura Sachkhere Match Preview
Aberdeen managed a 1-1 draw at Chikhura Sachkhere last week as Sam Cosgrove converted the second-half penalty to return the favour for Giorgi Koripadze’s first-half attempt, now hosting the Georgia rivals for the second leg of their Europa League clash in hope they can capitalize on it and make their way to the next round.
Dons have thus extended an eight-match unbeaten streak where they earned five wins and three draws, making their way past RoPS (4-2 on aggregate) in 1st Qualifying Round on the back of two narrow wins. They will now want more of the same in front of the home crowd and we do feel they can make it happen.
Chikhura have an unbeaten streak of their own and they’ve last seen a loss back in June, which will surely be a confidence booster by itself. Still, we feel the trip to Pittodrie will be more of a challenge than they’ve been used to, having edged past Luxembourg rivals Fola Esch beforehand.
Samson Pruidze’s men have struggled to consistently perform on the road and failed to find the net in three of their last five trips across competitions, which will be more worrying. Chikhura now have to score goals if they’re to make it past the Scottish rivals, which does have few backing them to do so.
We will thus back Aberdeen to beat the Georgia rivals on the day and do so in what’s become an unconventional win at Pittodrie, going for a Home win to Nil at 19/20 with William Hill. We’ve seen the visitors struggling to create chances and we expect the same on Thursday.
We don’t feel we’re in for many goals now generally either and with that in mind, we’ll also back Under 2.5 Goals FT at 11/8 with Novibet – which does feel like great value for those keeping faith Aberdeen can keep a clean sheet on the day.
