Man City vs Brighton Tips

Tip 1

City’s wobble looks set to continue until the end of the campaign, with a 1-0 away defeat to Nottingham Forest the latest blip for the reigning champions.

That could be a problem with the visit of Brighton, who’ve taken a point from the Emirates and Villa Park, while claiming all three points at St James’ Park, Vitality Stadium and Old Trafford.

On the flip side, Pep’s men have slipped up to Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Arsenal and Everton, while the hosts have also had close scares against Fulham, Southampton and Brentford.

Tip 2

Joao Pedro has scored eight goals this season, but more eye-catchingly are when he’s netted and against who.

The Brazilian has goals against Man United, Arsenal, Bournemouth, Fulham and Manchester City, with three goals in his last three to boot.

He’s proven himself to deliver in big moments for Brighton this season, and with us anticipating Hurzeler’s side to leave the Etihad with something, it makes sense to also dabble on Joao Pedro finding the net since the Seagulls have either won or drawn on all eight occasions of him scoring in the 2024/25 campaign.

Man City Form, Team News & Predicted Line-Up

Without Champions League duties to prepare for, City have had a week’s rest since their most recent outing – a 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest last Saturday lunchtime.

Rodri, John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Jack Grealish are all still unavailable for selection through injury.

Man City Predicted XI: Ederson; Nunes, Khusanov, Dias, Gvardiol; Gonzalez, Savinho, Silva, Foden, Doku; Haaland.

Brighton Form, Team News & Predicted Line-Up

The Seagulls have won six consecutive matches since the 7-0 thumping at the hands of Forest, winning 2-1 the past two weekends – first against Newcastle in the FA Cup and then most recently versus Fulham to climb into 7th in the table.

Fabian Hurzeler has the same squad available to him for last Saturday’s win over the Cottagers, with long-term absentees, Ferdi Kadioglu and Igor still absent.

Brighton Predicted XI: Verbruggen; Hinshelwood, van Hecke, Webster, Estupinan; Baleba, Ayari; Minteh, Rutter, Mitoma; Pedro.
