Three Youngsters to Trade With on Football Index this Season

Dean Smith 04 Sep 2019

With the new Premier League season finally about to get underway we take a look at three youngsters who could end up going for big profit on the Football Index in this campaign.

Mason Greenwood – Manchester United

With Romelu Lukaku leaving Old Trafford on the final day of the transfer window to join Serie A giants Inter Milan, there seems to be sufficient evidence that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be placing faith in young striker Mason Greenwood to get some first-team minutes under his belt for Manchester United this season.

The Red Devils also have the likes of Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford in their ranks, but Greenwood led the line to a high standard in the pre-season friendlies and in Solskjaer, he has a manager that won’t be afraid to put trust in young starlets over the course of the coming campaign.

The Bradford-born forward has the pace and finishing ability to be a threat to Premier League defences right from the word go this term and given that he plays for one of the most illustrious clubs in the world, focus and plaudits if things go his way will be forthcoming and push his price up rapidly.

At only 17, Greenwood’s potential is absolutely huge – and that’s exactly what we’re looking for when investing for the long-term on Football Index.

Mason Mount – Chelsea

One club that will have to place some faith in youngsters this season is Chelsea. With a transfer ban denying new manager Frank Lampard the opportunity to invest in his squad, and experienced players like David Luiz and Eden Hazard leaving during the window, the boss will have to tap into the club’s talented pool of young stars during the course of this campaign.

One player who Lampard knows very well having had him on loan at former club Derby County last season is Mason Mount. The 20 year old midfielder plays a similar role to the one Lampard made his own at Stamford Bridge as a player and will no doubt continue to develop and progress over the next few seasons.

Having already become a regular within England’s youth set-up and having amassed over 80 first-team appearances during loan spells at Vitesse and Derby, Mount seems to be the one player that is ready made to make the step up to the starting eleven where his price will only increase if he can nail down a first-team spot.

Troy Parrott – Tottenham Hotspur

After falling short in their late attempt to sign Argentinian superstar Paulo Dybala in the summer transfer window, and with experienced forward Fernando Llorente having left the club upon the expiry of his contract in the summer, Tottenham Hotspur are looking a little short on numbers in attack as we head into the new season.

One man who may be ready to fill that gap in the squad is Troy Parrott. At just 17 years old, Parrott has already made a name for himself within the youth ranks both at Tottenham and with the Republic of Ireland, racking up the goals for both his club and his country at youth level over the course of the last few seasons.

Having impressed during Tottenham’s pre-season friendly fixtures, Parrott is a name that many Spurs fans are starting to become very excited by and if he can translate his goalscoring prowess with the youth team into the first-team when called upon this season then his stock will rapidly rise.
