Eliteserien predictions

One of the key leagues to keep your eye on over the summer is the Eliteserien. With most of Europe’s leagues in the off-season over the summer months, Scandinavian leagues are well worth following and none more so than Norway’s top tier, the Eliteserien, which gets underway in April.

Rosenborg are, perhaps unsurprisingly, the holders having been the dominant force still in Norwegian football for some time and that trophy last year was their record 26th whilst the likes of Valeranga, Brann and Molde are expected to push them in the title race in this campaign.

What is the Eliteserien?

The Eliteserien is the top tier of the Norwegian footballing pyramid. The competition takes place over the summer months from March right through to November and the 2019 version of the competition is the 74th consecutive tournament as Rosenborg look to defend their title and win their 27th league trophy.

Molde, until recently managed by current Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, have been one of the better sides in recent years having won three of the last six competitions. Teams such as Brann and upcoming club Odd will also be among the front-runners this term.
