What are the most popular EFL Cup bets?

This generally depends on the round. In the early rounds of the competition, there is a full fixture list and with seeded teams, there are great opportunities for acca bets and both teams to score bets. As the competition progresses, with fewer games in each round, it may be better to look at match-specific markets including total cards betting and total corner betting.

League Cup History

The League Cup has gone by many names over the years, from the Football League Cup in 1960 to the Milk Cup, Coca-Cola Cup, Worthington Cup and Carling Cup, to name but a few. In the 2017/18 season it became the Carabao Cup.

The cup was originally created in the early 1960s as a consolation competition for teams that had crashed out of the more prestigious FA Cup, at a time when teams were struggling to fill stadiums. Games were held during the week and gave struggling teams the chance to gain a few more ticket sales between weekend fixtures.

The League Cup has thrown up many a magical moment over the years, from Luton Town’s famous last-minute winner against the giants of Arsenal in 1988 to Bradford City’s surprise run to the final in 2013.
