  • West Bromwich Albion welcome West Ham United to the Hawthorns this weekend
  • Tony Pulis will have his team set up to frustrate an unpredictable Hammers outfit

West Bromwich Albion v West Ham United Premier League predictions, betting tips and match preview here. The Baggies are tough to break down under Tony Pulis and we fancy them to grind out another three points here.

  • West Bromwich Albion have won two, drawn one and lost one of their four games so far this term
  • West Ham United meanwhile lost their first three games before their win over Huddersfield on Monday
  • The Hammers have won 15 of the previous 38 meetings between these two teams

West Brom v West Ham betting preview

West Bromwich Albion have become one of the toughest teams to break down in the Premier League over the last couple of seasons, but that's no surprise given who they've got in the dugout at the Hawthorns. In the shape of Tony Pulis, the Midlands club have a manager who may not win the most plaudits for his style of play, but is more than capable of building a strong and effective Premier League side.

After beginning the season with back-to-back wins over Bournemouth and Burnley, the Welsh boss will no doubt have been delighted with his side's start to the season. Since then however, the Baggies have been held to a home draw with Pulis' former club Stoke and they were beaten by newly-promoted Brighton last time out. An improved performance is required if they're to win this one at 11/8 with William Hill.

West Ham United seem unable to create any consistency at the moment and there appears to be something of a disconnect between the owners of the club and manager Slaven Bilic. Tensions will only have been heightened at the London Stadium by the Hammers' dreadful start to the season as they went down in defeats to Manchester United, Southampton and Newcastle United in their first three games.

Thankfully for the Croatian boss and his side, they managed to earn their first three points of the season in front of the TV cameras on Monday Night Football as two second half goals handed them all three points against a stoic Huddersfield Town. Can the Londoners now build on that win by earning their first away win of the campaign? You can back the visitors for the three points at odds of 23/10 with Ladbrokes.

Although West Ham eventually managed to break down the Terriers on Monday night, they've failed to find the net in two of their four Premier League matches this term and could be in for a tough afternoon against a Baggies defence that are as well-drilled as you would expect for a Pulis side. West Brom have won two games to nil already this season and we're backing them for a third here at 14/5 with BetVictor.

Salomon Rondon was the Baggies' main goal threat last season but he's yet to open his Premier League account so far this season. The Venezuelan international did get on the scoresheet in the EFL Cup win over Accrington Stanley however and it won't be long until he breaks his duck for the season. The 27 year old found the net in this fixture last season and we're backing him to do so again here at 21/10 with Paddy Power.

Recommended bets:
West Brom to win to nil @ 14/5 with BetVictor
Salomon Rondon to score at any time @ 21/10 with Paddy Power
