Tottenham v Everton betting preview

Tottenham Hotspur are fighting to remain in the top four this season but they face a tough task in doing so. Although sitting above their North London rivals Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United Chelsea are all ahead of the Lilywhites in the league table currently as Manchester City have a runaway lead at the top, although Mauricio Pochettino's men have at least been more competitive in Europe, even beating holders Real Madrid in the Champions League.

A successful festive period saw Spurs pick up three consecutive wins including a 0-3 away mauling of high-flying Burnley, but they were stopped in their tracks last time out in the Premier League and held to a frustrating 1-1 draw by London rivals West Ham United. Can they bounce back to league form this time around and close the gap between themselves and the top four by picking up three points here at odds of 2/7 with William Hill?

Everton have endured a strange old season so far. Optimism was high around the Merseyside club in the summer after some big money deals brought in players like Gylffi Sigurdsson and Jordan Pickford, but it's fair to say that the new signings failed to gel as expected in the opening weeks of the season and with the threat of relegation starting to look all too realistic, boss Ronald Koeman was fired and replaced with former England manager Sam Allardyce.

It's fair to say that the Toffees had started to show signs of recovery under the more pragmatic new boss, picking up hard-fought wins over the likes of Swansea City and Newcastle United, but they make the trip to the capital on Saturday evening on the back of a four game winless streak in the Premier League. Can they end their poor record against Tottenham and ensure they don't go 11 games without a win vs Spurs by taking all three points here at 14/1 with BetVictor?

Whilst the Toffees' confidence seems to have been knocked by those recent results, Spurs have looked more like their usual selves of late and we can see them grinding out a much needed three points here. Allardyce will undoubtedly make sure his Everton side set up with a solid defensive shape and as such, we can't see it being an easy win for the Lilywhites by any stretch of the imagination, so we're backing the home win by a margin of one goal at 14/5 with Betfair.

After struggling with a sickness bug over the turn of the new year, Harry Kane was unable to get on the scoresheet in his first two games of 2018 after finishing the last calendar year with more goals to his name than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The Spurs striker has racked up no fewer than 18 goals in 21 matches so far this season and two of them came in his side's away win over Everton earlier in the campaign. We can see him getting two or more again here.

Recommended bets:
Spurs to win by one goal @ 14/5 with Betfair
Harry Kane to score two or more goals @ 3/1 with Paddy Power
