Swansea City v West Bromwich Albion Premier League predictions, betting tips and match preview here. Both of these teams are looking to end their poor spell's of winless form as they go head to head in something of a relegation six-pointer this weekend.

Swansea v West Brom match stats

  • Swansea haven't managed a win in their last eight games in all competitions
  • West Brom meanwhile are now winless in fourteen in all competitions
  • The Baggies are yet to get their first win under new boss Alan Pardew

Swansea v West Brom betting preview

Swansea City changed their managed twice during last season and eventually their indecision paid off as Paul Clement was able to steer the team away from the bottom three and keep them in the Premier League. It has to be said though that the former Real Madrid and Chelsea coach may be wondering about his own future now as after selling key players Gylffi Sigurdsson and Fernando Llorente, the club sit rock bottom of the table having collected just nine points from fifteen games thus far.

Since a 2-0 victory over newly-promoted Huddersfield Town in front of their own fans back in October, the Swans haven't managed to pick up a victory, going eight games without a win in all competitions in a run that has included seven defeats, including last weekend's loss at Stoke City where they led in the early stages. Clement and his squad are in desperate need of a confidence boosting victory but the bookmakers make them slight favourites to get it this weekend with odds of 23/13 available with Unibet.

West Bromwich Albion have already taken the decision to change manager this season. Although Tony Pulis has a reputation for being able to grind out results with relatively limited quality in his squads, the supporters at the Hawthorns were growing tired by the unadventurous style of play implemented by the Welshman and with the club teetering above the relegation zone, he was removed from his position in the dugout and has since been replaced by another former Crystal Palace man, Alan Pardew.

After two draws in two games under the caretaker charge of Gary Megson, the Baggies drew a third consecutive game in Pardews' first in charge last weekend, drawing 0-0 with the Eagles at home last weekend. Although that result indicated that the new boss was perhaps yet to implement a more attacking nature, the stats showed that the Midlands side managed 20 attempts at goal. Can a more expansive style of play in this game secure the club's first away win since August at odds of 85/40 with Marathonbet.

With Clement's position now surely under threat at the Liberty Stadium, the Swans need to record all three points in this game. But Pardew will have had another week to work with his squad at West Brom and the team will be keen to impress him in the opening weeks of his reign with the Baggies. Draws appear to be their speciality at the moment though after three on the bounce and we expect another in this game as neither side appears capable of a win at the moment. The tie is available at 2/1 with BetVictor.

Goals have been at a premium for both of these teams so far this season. With just eight goals to their name, the Swans have the joint-worst defensive record in the Premier League with Crystal Palace, whilst the Baggies have only managed a measly return of 12 so far themselves with 15 matches gone. The Midlands side have no player that has managed more than two league goals so far this term and if their defence can shut out the dangerous Tammy Abraham, under 2.5 goals looks like a banker here at 8/15 with William Hill.
