Liverpool vs Crystal Palace betting tips

Crystal Palace continue in excellent form and look a big price to deny Liverpool a victory that would take them ever closer to a Champions League return.

After this weekend, the Reds will have played at least two more matches than all of their rivals for Premier League top-four positions and will not mind that as long as they keep accumulating the points to set their pursuers a very stiff target.

But they could open the door to being caught by the two Manchester clubs, and perhaps even Arsenal, if they cannot get the better of a much improved Palace side who have a good recent head-to-head record against Liverpool.

The Eagles now look highly unlikely to be relegated after winning five of their last seven matches, including away to Chelsea and 3-0 at home to Arsenal, and showed their resilience by fighting back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Leicester last weekend.

Along with manager Sam Allardyce, much of the credit for the revival is being attributed to on-loan Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho and, being ineligible to face his parent club, the Frenchman will obviously be a big miss for the visitors.

However, it has not all been down to Sakho and in Damien Delaney, Allardyce has a defender to come in with plenty of experience not only of the top flight but also of getting results against Liverpool both at Selhurst Park and Anfield.

The recent form of Jurgen Klopp’s side has been solid enough, but they had to work hard to beat Stoke and West Brom by one-goal margins and conceded a late equaliser in their last home game against Bournemouth.

They have not been helped by injuries with Lucas Leiva, Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan joining Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana in missing training this week and at the odds available, Palace to avoid defeat appeals as a very attractive bet.
