Leicester City v Fleetwood Town match stats

Leicester City may have one eye on winning the FA Cup this season since they don't look likely to challenge for a European place through the Premier League. The Foxes struggled in the early stages of the campaign but the hiring of former Southampton boss Claude Puel appears to have brought some stability to their season and they're now on track for a top half finish at least and a cup run would supplement their improved league form well.

Given that their league form had slowed down and led to just one point from a possible 12 over December ahead of a 3-0 romp of Huddersfield Town, it was perhaps no surprise that the French manager decided to rest some of his key men for the trip to Lancashire in the FA Cup. After being held to a goalless draw by the League One side he will however expect his side to face few problems in winning the replay at odds of 4/11 with Betbright.

Fleetwood Town look set for a season of midtable mediocrity in League One this term. The club's meteoric rise from the depths of non-league has been well documented but promotion to the Championship, which was the publicised long-term aim of the financial backers at the Lancashire club, doesn't look set to happen this season at least, so they may be focusing on the FA Cup and looking to pull off a shock on Saturday afternoon.

Being a League One outfit, the Cod Army have already had to go through two rounds of this competition and despite playing two non-league outfits, they had to struggle through both ties, coming from behind to beat Chorley in Round One before needing a replay to overcome Hereford Town away from home after a draw at Highbury in Round Two. They'll have been altogether happier to earn a draw against Leicester, although an away win this time seems unlikely at 14/1 with Coral.

Fleetwood's real chance of progressing from this tie came in front of their home fans and back in the comfort of their own surroundings, this Leicester City outfit should face few problems in overcoming their lower league rivals here. The Cod Army struggled to threaten the Foxes' defence in that first game and so we expect the hosts backline' to come out on top again here and ensure the Premier League side win this one to nil at 13/15 with Ladbrokes.

Jamie Vardy missed out on a return to his former stomping ground through injury, but he is likely to return to action to play some part against his former club in this game. Since leaving Highbury Stadium in 2012 the striker has been capped by England, racked up over 75 Leicester goals and even added a Premier League winners medal to his collection. We're backing him to bite the hand that once fed him with a goal at any time in this game.

Recommended bets:
Leicester to win to nil @ 13/15 with Ladbrokes
Jamie Vardy to score at any time
