Ipswich Town vs Leeds United predictions for Saturday’s Championship match at Portman Road. Leeds were knocked out of the FA Cup by a League Two side last weekend. Read on for our free predictions and betting tips.

Neither of these teams is in good form at present and both are difficult to trust to win this game, so a draw looks the best bet for the Portman Road clash.

Although Leeds still have every chance of reaching the Championship play-offs and even a squeak of automatic promotion, they will need to improve on their recent results or they will find themselves dropping away from the all-important top six positions.

The Whites have been patchy this season. They suffered a terrible run from late September to early November, comprising seven league and cup defeats in eight games, but either side of that up to Boxing Day they had won the vast majority of their matches.

But whether it’s post-Christmas blues or a more physical reason, Thomas Christiansen’s side have gone off the boil again and only one point from a possible six over New Year was followed by an embarrassing FA Cup exit against League Two club Newport County last Sunday.

Mind you, Ipswich have been no better. Mick McCarthy’s team are experiencing a similarly up-and-down campaign to Saturday’s opponents, except their dips have been more marked – they have lost four and drawn the other of their last five fixtures and were beaten 1-0 at home by Sheffield United in the FA Cup.

The Tractor Boys appear to be a perennial mid-table side in the Championship these days, stuck in a rut if you’ll pardon the pun, and you have to wonder how long the Ipswich board will settle for treading water as the seemingly more ambitious clubs challenge at the top end of the table.

Leeds will be without their Spanish striker Samuel Saiz here after he was sent off for spitting against Newport, receiving a six-match suspension, but he had gone six games without scoring anyway and even in his absence they are fancied to head home to Yorkshire with a point.
