Huddersfield Town vs West Ham United predictions for Saturday’s Premier League match at the John Smith’s Stadium. The Hammers are seeking only a second away league win of the season. Read on for our free predictions and betting tips.

Home advantage is expected to tell when Huddersfield aim to gain revenge for their defeat earlier this season against West Ham.

Straight after the first international break of the campaign, the Hammers hosted Huddersfield in a Monday Night Football match and prevailed 2-0 to gain their initial league win and a brief respite from the pressure that was building on manager Slaven Bilic.

Four months on, Bilic has left West Ham and been replaced by David Moyes, who has made the team a bit more resilient, but they are still very much involved in the Premier League relegation battle – as are more than half of the 20 clubs, including Huddersfield.

Although they have become more difficult to beat, West Ham still have only one away league win to their credit this season when they triumphed 3-0 against out-of-sorts Stoke in mid-December.

They are not being helped by a lengthy injury list which meant Moyes was down to the bare bones for last weekend’s FA Cup tie at Shrewsbury, a match that had the final score of 0-0 written all over it from an early stage and one where West Ham were clearly happy just to get through unscathed.

In terms of the big picture, this is probably a more important match for Huddersfield because it’s games like this they have been winning in order to keep themselves well above the drop zone.

The Terriers go into the weekend a very healthy 11th in the table but with only four points to spare over 18th position and, with the best home record outside the top nine, their hopes of staying in the top flight are likely to continue to depend on results achieved on their own pitch.

David Wagner’s side won neither of their home fixtures over the festive period, which is a slight worry in the sense of backing them here, but we fancy Huddersfield to grind out a three-point haul which could be vitally important in their quest to remain in the Premier League.
