Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth predictions for their Premier League match at Selhurst Park on Saturday. Palace have climbed off the bottom of the table for the first time since September. Read on for our free predictions and betting tips.

Crystal Palace continue to improve under Roy Hodgson, but they look a very short price at around Evens for this match and we will side with Bournemouth to avoid defeat as a minimum.

The Eagles’ progression has been slow but sure, with the home form now fine as they are undefeated at Selhurst Park since Hodgson took over while they have also become much more difficult to beat on the road.

One worry for the ex-England manager though will be that his team are yet to score a league goal away from home, albeit a pair of back-to-back 0-0 draws have lifted them off the foot of the table to within three points of the safety zone after their terrible start to the campaign.

It is looking now as though Palace have a good chance of avoiding relegation this term, yet we cannot back them at the odds available for Saturday’s match against a Bournemouth side who are also generally moving in an upward direction.

The Cherries’ strong spell from mid-October to mid-November has admittedly stalled with a three-match winless run, but they have taken seven points from the last nine available away from home and conceded only one goal in those games to show how well they have been set up defensively.

Two of those victories were at grounds among the more difficult for visiting teams, Stoke and Newcastle, so the passionate atmosphere generated by the Palace fans is unlikely to have any adverse effect on a Bournemouth side unbeaten at this venue during their life in the top flight.

This has the look of a match in which any of the three outcomes is distinctly possible and so with the odds for Bournemouth and the draw combined only slightly shorter than those for a Palace win, we will happily take the option of having two of them running for us.

Crystal Palace vs Bournemouth stats

  • Bournemouth have taken four points out of six away to Crystal Palace since they were promoted to the Premier League in 2015
  • Only Brighton have conceded fewer away Premier League goals than Bournemouth outside the top three
  • Both teams have scored in Crystal Palace’s last four home games
