Chelsea v Arsenal Premier League predictions, betting tips and match preview here. Will Wenger's woes at Stamford Bridge continue or can he earn his side a morale-boosting away win for the Gunners over the reigning champions?

  • Chelsea have won their last four matches in all competitions
  • Arsenal have lost seven of their last ten EPL away fixtures
  • The Blues have won their last five home games versus the Gunners

Chelsea v Arsenal betting preview

There have been some classic match-ups between these two teams over the Premier League era and some incredible goals scored. With both teams always competing for honours at the top end of the Premier League, there's usually a lot riding on these matches too and they've also come to blows in other competitions. Indeed, the Gunners overcame the Blues in the FA Cup final to lift the trophy back in May.

In the Premier League though, it's generally been the men from Stamford Bridge who have had the better of this meeting in recent years, particularly in front of their own fans. Chelsea have won all five of the last five meetings between these two at Stamford Bridge, including a 6-0 thumping victory in the 2013/2014 season, so it's no surprise that they're favourites for the three points again this weekend.

It's even less of a surprise when you consider how strong Chelsea have looked in their last four matches. Since an embarrassing opening day defeat at home to Burnley, the Blues have since won four games on the bounce including another London derby over Tottenham Hotspur and a thumping midweek victory over Azerbaijani outfit Qarabag. They should have the confidence to win another three points here at 5/6 with Paddy Power.

Arsenal's start to the season has been a poor one by their standards. The North Londoners just don't seem capable of competing at the very top of the Premier League table and last year they dropped out of the top four to finish fifth. Although the Gunners have earned two wins from their first two home games of the season, they've lost both away games against Stoke and Liverpool, hence why they're out at 10/3 with Boylesports to win this clash.

In the last four meetings between these two teams at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea have breezed to victory, winning each of those matches by more than one goal. The Gunners look hapless on the road at the minute and defensively, they leave a lot to be desired. The hosts have the quality to hurt them with players like Eden Hazard and Alvaro Morata, so we're backing Chelsea to win with a one goal handicap at odds of 2/1 with Ladbrokes.

Alvaro Morata has enjoyed a fine start to life in the Premier League. The ex-Real Madrid man came off the bench on his league debut to score in the defeat to Burnley and he has since bagged in the victories against Leicester City and Everton too. The Spaniard has the movement and intelligence in front of goal to put the Gunners' backline to the sword and find the net again here at any time at evens with Coral.

Recommended bets:
Chelsea to win with a one goal handicap @ 2/1 with Ladbrokes
Alvaro Morata to score at any time @ evens with Coral
