Burnley vs West Ham United predictions for their Premier League match at Turf Moor on Saturday. The home team start the weekend an impressive sixth in the table. Read on for our free predictions and betting tips.

West Ham have an excellent head-to-head record against Burnley and look worth backing to continue it against opponents who have been stronger away from home so far this term.

Take a glance at the top end of the Premier League table and it has a familiar look, with all the names you would expect being among the top seven. All, that is, except for Burnley, who are riding high in sixth position, just ahead of Liverpool.

The reason is the Clarets’ away form, because they have remarkably remained unbeaten on their travels against Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton, winning two and drawing the others. It’s a record in direct contrast to last season when Sean Dyche’s side stayed up almost exclusively due to points collected at home.

That’s not to say Burnley have been poor on their own pitch this season. Far from it – they have just kept things very tight, winning and losing 1-0 and playing out a goalless draw with Huddersfield in their latest Turf Moor fixture.

However, West Ham have been a troublesome opponent for the East Lancashire club in recent history, as the stats below indicate, and indeed the Londoners’ superiority dates even further back on a general level than the figures we have quoted.

The East Enders need to start collecting points and scoring goals on the road because they have been unconvincing in both of those regards so far, although Diafra Sakho’s late winner at home to Swansea meant they entered the international break feeling much better about life – and with manager Slaven Bilic’s job more secure than would have been the case otherwise.

With Sakho and Manuel Lanzini working their way back to full fitness, the Hammers should have considerably more attacking threat about them if they can get that duo back on the pitch for any length of time and in a match where goals are likely to be at a premium, they are fancied to make it back-to-back victories at the expense of their fellow claret-and-blues.

Burnley vs West Ham United stats

  • West Ham United have won the last five meetings of these clubs
  • The Hammers are unbeaten in their latest four visits to Turf Moor
  • Only two goals have been scored in Burnley’s three home league matches this season
