Brighton vs Stoke City predictions for their Premier League match at the Amex Stadium on Monday. The Seagulls were eighth in the table over the international break. Read on for our free predictions and betting tips.

Stoke have been a bogey team for Brighton since the turn of the century (see stats below) and after winning their last away match at Watford, the visitors could be good value to continue their supremacy.

Brighton are favourites for this game having compiled a very encouraging four-match unbeaten run comprising two wins and two draws, both of their victories coming on their travels at West Ham and Swansea with clean sheets while the stalemates were at home to Everton and Southampton.

The catalyst for the improvement has been the form of veteran striker Glenn Murray, who has scored four of the Seagulls’ last five goals to give them a cutting edge which had been lacking in the early weeks of their first top-flight campaign since 1983.

Although manager Chris Hughton will be delighted with the away form, he may be concerned that his side have not been quite as convincing on their own pitch as they seek the points to keep them in the Premier League, and that is certainly an opportunity for Stoke to exploit.

The Potters bounced back from a poor spell with a 1-0 success at Watford through a Darren Fletcher goal and their subsequent 2-2 draw at home to Leicester was pretty much what the neutrals would have expected.

Mark Hughes’ side rarely stray away from their long-held status as a mid-table outfit capable of bustling up the top teams on their day and bagging their fair share of points against their peers to ensure they do not get caught up in the relegation battle.

Therefore, it is unlikely there will be too much between these sides and it could even be decided by a solitary goal.

Looking at the respective squads, Stoke appear to possess the greater individual quality and we will back them to snatch a narrow win that would put them level on points with Brighton but still significantly behind on goal difference.

Brighton vs Stoke City stats

  • Under 2.5 goals have been scored in six of Brighton’s last seven matches
  • The Seagulls have scored more than one goal in only one of their six home league and cup games this season
