Bournemouth vs Manchester United betting tips

Manchester United were abject in an embarrassing home defeat to bottom club West Brom on Sunday but are backed to restore pride with victory at Bournemouth ahead of the FA Cup semi-final.

The Red Devils have been up and down like a fiddler’s elbow over the last couple of months or so, winning 13 of their 18 matches so far in 2018 but also throwing in some poor results and performances such as in the losses to Tottenham, Newcastle, Sevilla and latterly West Brom.

They have also hit the heights and plumbed the depths in the same game, most notably when producing a chalk-and-cheese display to overturn a 2-0 half-time deficit and win the Manchester derby 3-2.

If this season is to be considered a success in any way, Jose Mourinho’s side firstly have to get past Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley in Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final to keep alive hopes of lifting a trophy, for a distant second place in the Premier League to their neighbours would be nothing to make a song and dance about.

In the meantime, United have a game in hand at Bournemouth to fulfil and surely Mourinho would have been preparing to rest his star players for the Wembley date in the anticipation of getting three points last weekend – but that process may just have gone out of the window.

Changes to the line-up are still expected because there will be many squad players craving minutes and the likes of Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay must now see this as a good chance to get themselves either back in the starting XI or just back into favour.

Mourinho will surely elicit a response from his team, who cannot afford another slip-up with Liverpool now breathing right down their neck in the league table, and United are fancied to come out on top.
