Bolton vs. Swindon Town tips & preview - Bolton to earn their first win of 2017

  • Bolton host Swindon just days before their tough FA Cup away day at Crystal Palace
  • Swindon Town haven’t earned a win since November
  • The visitors sit just above the relegation zone and four points ahead of 21st placed Bury

Bolton Wanderers host Swindon Town at Macron Stadium on Saturday, hoping to bag league points just days before their all-important FA Cup return match at Crystal Palace.

Our primary betting recommendation for this match is Home win at 1/2 with William Hill

Bolton Wanderers haven’t started the year the way they had hoped to, as they’ve recorded two draws (2-2 at Coventry and 0-0 against Crystal Palace) in their last two outings and they now hope to return to the winning ways against struggling Swindon Town on Saturday, which we’ll back at 1/2 with William Hill.

The Trotters currently stand 3rd in League One and they lag six points behind the 1st placed Sheffield United with a game in hand. They now need points to keep up with the table-toppers and, despite their difficult schedule, it doesn’t seem the visitors will be able to cause an upset at Macron stadium.

The draw against Crystal Palace only ended Bolton’s ten-match win streak in front of the home crowd and we don’t feel the result against the Premier League rivals has dented their confidence. They’ve bagged nine goals in the four matches before it and, wanting to lift the team spirits ahead of the return match at Palace, they’ll come into the match strong and we’ll now go for Over 2.5 goals FT at 17/20 with BetVictor.

Swindon come into the match on the back of two hard-fought home draws (1-1 against Shrewsbury last week and 0-0 against Southend earlier this month) but their difficult schedule doesn’t really bolster their mid-table ambitions. They’ve earned just one win away from home with five draws and seven losses in 13 matches on the road, conceding a high total of 27 goals in the process.

After a five-match drought, Zach Clough has found the net in the 2-2 at Coventry and he might just be needed again on the day so backing him to score anytime at 21/20 with bet365 will surely attract a few value seekers. However, we expect Gary Madine leading the attacking line and with five goals to his name this term, he might be the best value in the goalscoring market at 7/5 to score anytime with the same bookie!

Recommended Bets:

Home win at 1/2 with William Hill

Over 2.5 goals FT at 17/20 with BetVictor
