Monaco v Nice Ligue 1 Match Preview, Predictions & Betting Tips here. Two Arsenal legends go head to head at Stade Louis II on Friday night as Thierry Henry's AS Monaco welcome Patrick Vieira's OGC Nice.

Match date: 7th December 2018
Kick-Off: 7.45pm
Stadium: Stade Louis II, Monaco

Monaco v Nice Predictions

Thierry Henry has not been able to turn around the fortunes of this Monaco outfit since becoming their manager earlier in this campaign. With the team struggling towards the foot of the Ligue 1 table it came as little surprise when Leonardo Jardim was sacked by the club but the decision to hire Thierry Henry in his first job as a head coach after his only previous experience came as part of Roberto Martinez's backroom staff at Belgium did raise some eyebrows.

Les Rouges et Blancs picked up their first win in 16 games away to Caen a couple of weeks ago and Henry will no doubt have been hoping that result would be a springboard for some improved form in the second half of the campaign. However since then, the side from the principality have lost to Atletico Madrid and Montpellier and are now looking to pick up another three points at odds of 7/5 with William Hill.

OGC Nice have been performing above expectations over the last few seasons. The likes of Malang Sarr and Mario Balotelli have helped taken the club towards the top of the French top tier and even into the Europa League last season and they're now looking to qualify for Europe again after they narrowly missed out on the top four by a handful of points last term before eventually ending in 8th place.

After a stuttering start to the campaign, les Aiglons now seem to be finding their feet and they'll make the trip to Stade Louis II for Ligue 1's Friday night fixture on the back of a six game unbeaten run which has included five wins and notably, away victories over Nimes and Bordeaux. With confidence high among Patrick Vieira's squad at the moment they seem a long price for the away win to us at 39/19 with Unibet.

Monaco v Nice Match Stats

  • Monaco have won just one of their last 19 games in all competitions
  • Nice meanwhile are unbeaten in their last six, winning five
  • Les Aiglons drew 2-2 on their last visit to Stade Louis II last term

Monaco v Nice betting tips

We're backing a low-scoring game here. Monaco have really struggled in front of goal of late, scoring just twice in their last six matches but they have looked slightly better at the back in their last three matches, conceding just four in comparison to the nine conceded in the three before that. Under 2.5 goals have been scored in seven of Nice's last eight matches in all competitions so we are backing the same again here at 4/5 with Ladbrokes.

That lack of goals from this Monaco outfit will be seriously worrying to Henry, especially coming into a game against a Nice outfit that have kept clean sheets in their last four consecutive games. Despite the odds, everything is pointing to an away win here and we expect this in-form Aiglons backline to face few problems in shutting out an out-of-sorts Monaco attack. You can back the visitors to win to nil at 10/3 with BetVictor.

Monaco v Nice best odds

Monaco - 7/5 (William Hill)
Draw - 23/10 (Betfair)
Nice - 39/19 (Unibet)

Monaco v Nice recommended bets

Under 2.5 goals @ 4/5 (Ladbrokes)
Away win to nil @ 10/3 (BetVictor)
