Huddersfield v Brighton Predictions

Huddersfield Town and Brighton & Hove Albion have a lot of similarities. Not only do both clubs have similar, relatively new state-of-the-art stadiums, they both play in blue and white stripes and perhaps more pertinently, they were both promotion to the Premier League for the first time two seasons ago. Equally, they both managed to stave off relegation last season despite pundits backing both to struggle over the course of the campaign.

For the Terriers, it was a terribly slow start to the new campaign too and they failed to pick up a win in any competition in their first 11 games of the season. David Wagner's men have started to show some of their renowned spirit in recent weeks though and a first win of the campaign, at home to Fulham, has since been followed up with a draw versus West Ham United and a rare away victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers last weekend.

Brighton & Hove Albion sit three places and five points clear of their Saturday opponents as things stand, but they've been stronger at home than away. Victories at the Amex Stadium against the likes of Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers were the kind of result that saw them beat the drop last term, but an away win at Newcastle back in October remains their only competitive victory in 15 games on the road.

With the home advantage and the improved performances of the last few weeks undoubtedly improving confidence in the Huddersfield camp, it's no surprise that they are narrow favourites for the win here at odds of 31/20 with Betfair. If however you fancy the extra quality of this Brighton outfit to shine through you can back the away win at odds of 27/11 with Unibet whilst the draw is priced at 2/1 with William Hill.

Huddersfield v Brighton Match Stats

Huddersfield v Brighton betting tips

This could be a game in which the defences comes out on top. The Terriers have kept two clean sheets in their last three games but as always have struggled in front of goal, with their return of eight the lowest amount in the league (joint with Crystal Palace). Brighton meanwhile have drawn blanks in three of their seven away games so far this season. That's why we're backing under 1.5 goals at odds of 6/4 with Betfair.

With one goal likely to be enough to win this game and three points likely to prove pivotal for either side in the race to beat the drop, we're backing the home advantage to play a big part here. David Wagner's side are capable of playing up to their famously loud home crowd and after that terrific performance at Molineux last weekend we can see them forcing out a narrow 1-0 home win here at odds of 11/2 with BetVictor.

Huddersfield v Brighton best odds

Huddersfield - 31/20 (Betfair)

Huddersfield v Brighton recommended bets
